Class Series Descriptions

 

Tai Chi

Beginners’ Tai Chi: This beginner's series introduces basic Tai Chi theory and practice.  The student will learn the foundational 24 forms movements. 8 weeks.

 

Tai Chi 24 Forms Part 2: This class is a continuation of the Tai Chi 24 Forms part 1 or the Beginners' Tai Chi. Assumes the student has already learned the first half of this wonderful form. 8 weeks.

 

Tai Chi 108 Forms: This is the original Yang Style long form Tai Chi Chuan, comprised of 108 movements divided into three sections of unequal length. Once learned, the form takes around 25 minutes to perform in its entirety, giving the practitioner a good workout in a single form. Recommended for those who have completed the 10 or 24 forms.  8 weeks.


Qi Gong

Senior Qi GongThis seniors Qi Gong class incorporates many gentle qi gong forms geared toward health and the development of a personal practice. Excellent for moderating many chronic illnesses. (Special senior pricing.) 8 weeks. - Drop ins welcome

 

Qi Gong - Yang Shen: The Wudang Yang Shen Qi Gong comprises a simple series of movements which reduce negative qi in the body and collect positive or good qi. It forms a basis for Wudang Walking Crane Qi Gong. 4 weeks.

 

Qi Gong - Shen Dian: The Wudang Shen Dian Qi Gong includes six major movements and a variety of supporting movements. In this class the student becomes aware of the feeling of qi and learns to collect, clean and strengthen their qi. Includes introduction to basic Taoist meditation. 4 weeks. Great for beginners.

Primordial Qi Gong:  Hun Yuan or Primordial Qi Gong is famous for its healing function and is reputed to repair and restore internal function. Including twelve simple movements, Primordial Qi Gong is designed for beginners but is a wonderful complement to any Tai Chi or Qi Gong practice. This series introduces the Wudang form of Primordial Qi Gong. We will also cover basic concepts of Qi Gong and Chinese Energetic Anatomy. No prerequisites.

Qi Gong for Winter:  Shake off the winter blues with this invigorating yet relaxing qi gong series. Incorporating  Hard Qi Gong, Tai Chi Qi Gong, laying Qi Gong and visualizations designed to strengthen and tone. This series of movements is also great for weight loss. 8 weeks. -drop ins welcome

 

Qi Gong for Spring:  Continue to wake your body up after winter and welcome spring with this invigorating yet relaxing qi gong series. Incorporating  Hard Qi Gong, Tai Chi Qi Gong, laying Qi Gong and visualizations designed to strengthen and tone. This series of movements is also great for weight loss. 8 weeks. Drop-ins welcome.

 

Yoga

Sivananda Yoga -All Levels This class includes the classic Sivananda twelve posture yoga series, and is geared toward the practitioner with familiarity with yoga. Emphasizing self-pacing, each student can take the posture to the level that they are comfortable with.  Meditative yet challenging. Generally includes 30 minutes of Pranayama.
