What is Nia?

Neuromuscular Integrative Action: Nia is an integrated dance therapy, a pleasure-based fusion of dance and martial arts. The practice of Nia is based in the Healing Arts (Yoga, Alexander technique, and Feldenkrais), Martial Arts (Aikido, Tai Kwon Do, and Tai Chi), and Dance Arts (Duncan, Modern, and Jazz).

Nia empowers men and women of all ages, shapes, sizes and ability levels by connecting the body, mind, emotions and spirit. Nia is a sensory-based movement practice that offers cardiovascular whole-body conditioning, stress reduction, increased strength, flexibility and greater balance. Nia is about listening to your body, which brings about a better sense of awareness and mindfulness that among many other things, will honor the body. Every experience can be adapted to individual needs.

Nia is done barefoot to eclectic music. No experience is necessary. Step into your own joyful journey with Nia, and positively shape the way you feel, look, think and live.
