Gentle Flow Yoga and Real Deal Yoga Teacher
Linny Curry has been a devoted practitioner of yoga since she was twenty years old, when she taught herself poses from the book Yoga, Youth and Creation by Jess Stern. Since that time, she has completed countless hours of personal practice and training with practitioners across the country.
Linny is a pioneer in both her personal and professional life. After studying with Jane Fonda in Los Angeles, Linny started the first aerobics studio in Atlanta in a building on East Paces Ferry Road. The success of the studio attracted the attention of Ted Turner. At age 36 (already with two children, Nikki, age 11, and Adam, age 9), she taught physical fitness classes for one minute thirty second breaks called “Between the Lines” in between Turner’s shows on TBS. Linny worked with TBS for a decade, in addition to running her aerobics studio. Her next dream was to run week-long retreats from St. Simons to Hong Kong. Linny came to Decatur Healing Arts after completing the 200-hour teacher training in Prana Kriya with Vladaimir Tchakarov. In addition to teaching at DHA, Linny teaches private yoga and Spiritual classes in person and by phone.
Linny was born into a fitness-focused family, and as a child, studied the paper anatomy charts her father pinned to the wall in his gym. Linny delights in bringing her lifetime of physical and spiritual knowledge to each and every student she teaches. She loves working with students who are devoted to the practice, and especially children, who are always drawn to her.
Outside of her passion for yoga and spiritual growth, Linny’s biggest accomplishment was walking for years alongside Dr. Martin Luther and Coretta King, Bobby and Ethel Kennedy, and hundreds of others with a passion for equal rights.
