Orthopedic Massage Therapy, aka Pain Relief Energetics, is a multidisciplinary approach to relieving muscular and soft tissue pain, dysfunction, and injuries. Therapeutic methods include mechanical, reflex, neural stim and energy-based therapies. The overall goal is to create and enhance for you a real sense of physical ease and freedom from pain, accomplishing full range-of-motion.
What happens in an Orthopedic Massage session?
Each client is assessed to determine the specific concerns that need to be addressed. As such, an individualized approach is taken – whether it is adjusting the structural balance of the entire body or focusing on a specific clinical condition.
The therapeutic methods applied during a session include:
The mechanical method of myofascial release focuses on correcting muscular/skeletal dysfunctions and nerve impingements to enhance optimal mobility and comfort.
The reflex method is Pain Neutralization Technique (PNT) involving gentle tissue manipulation to “turn off” nerve-based reflexes that perpetuate trigger points and muscle pain.
Neural stim is a hand-held device (aka Dolphin) that emits micro-currents that quickly break-up scar tissue and chronic knots at the cellular level.
The energy-based therapies are a blending of Reiki and Quantum Touch flow throughout the sessions.
