What is the “Yoga 4U” Scholarship?
“Yoga 4U” is a scholarship program that supports unemployed Yoga students to regain self-esteem, manage anxiety/depression, and overcome feelings of self-doubt and helplessness through Yoga.
“Yoga 4U” Scholarship was created to continue Bobbye Brown’s Yoga teaching legacy and to keep the flame of her love of yoga alive in the yoga room; a way to give back to the community based on the principle that Yoga should be accessible for all.
About Bobbye Brown 1940-2023
Bobbye was a dedicated Yogini. She was a compassionate teacher with a desire to have students focus on observing and witnessing their body with her gentle reminder “The greatest teacher will send you back to yourself”. Bobbye taught at Decatur Healing Arts for over 10 years. At 81 years old, there was not a challenging asana that she wouldn’t overcome in her class. Her strength motivated all students to come back to their practice.
Bobbye was a RYT®500; E-RYT®200 & YACEP® Yoga Alliance teacher who taught thousands of classes in different studios in Atlanta. She was actively involved in the Decatur Healing Arts community where she always filled the studio with her colorful personality, passion for teaching Yoga, and compassion.
Her daughter Maria Brown Humphrey and Decatur Healing Arts are very happy to offer the “Yoga 4U” scholarship to support the community and to continue Bobbye’s legacy and keep her spirit alive in the Yoga Room.

How “Yoga 4U” Scholarship works?
Fill out our application form below.
Each application is subject to review and approval.
Approval depends on the funds available.
Each application will cover one month of unlimited Yoga access.
When the application is approved, you will receive an email confirmation and immediate access to Yoga classes at the center.
Only one scholarship granted per person per year.
